About the event

Minority Issues Research Institute (MIRI) is organizing a panel of experts on the topic of Institutionalization and Mainstreaming Human Rights to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Since the adoption of the declaration, many UN member states, CSOs and individuals have worked diligently to make those agreed-upon common standards a reality at every level of human interaction and in all circumstances. That is why we consider that day as a starting point for the common era of a global rules-based world. To commemorate the day that the journey of establishing human rights began, MIRI invites you to join us for a panel discussion about how human rights are mainstreamed within the United Nations and about efforts to institutionalize them globally. We would like to address also the question of work that is still to be done in the area of human rights.

Speakers:

Dr Maria del Mar Logrono Narbona (Senior Advisor Access to Justice and Social Protection)

William Pace (President of the Center for Development of International Law)

Moderator:

Dr Mirsad Kriještorac (Minority Issues Research Institute, SK)

Opening words:

Dr Svetluša Surová (Minority Issues Research Institute, SK)
